This beautiful
7-decade rosary is hand-crafted with Bethlehem olive wood beads,
which we order directly from the Holy Land. Small wood agate
beads are used as accents. All metal, including end caps and
center piece, is sterling silver.
The Franciscan Crown, or The Rosary of the Seven Joys of the
Blessed Virgin Mary, began in the Franciscan Order. St. Francis of Assisi, whose favorite feast day was
Christmas, traveled to the Holy Land to visit the birthplace
of Jesus. St. Francis was the originator of the Living
Nativity, which tradition we continue today with our Nativity
scenes displayed each Christmas.
The crucifix, a replica of the San Damiano crucifix which
spoke to Francis and told him to "Rebuild My Church", is a
faithful sterling reproduction of the miraculous original.
In keeping with
traditional construction, a sterling medal of St. Francis is
attached to the crucifix.
A laminated prayer card, created by
Prayers By Hand,
is included with instructions on using this lovely,
centuries-old devotion for meditation on the 7 Joys of Our Lady.
A beautiful hinged gift box is also included.
